English Channel

We drove to an area called "Isle of Wight".where we could see the channel, from here its about 90 miles to the French coast. A turly windy, rainy day as you can see by the pics.
The Isle of Wight is one of the most beautiful parts of Britain. Just 23 miles by 13, the Island boasts award winning beaches, unspoilt and spectacular scenery and a rich historical heritage.
More than half the Island is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with over 500 miles of award-winning public foot paths and bridleways and almost 30 miles of the seashore has been designated as Heritage Coast. The Countryside Section of the Isle of Wight Council is involved in a wide range of activities from giving advice about wildlife to carrying out practical management, environmental education and co-ordinating the Wight Walks booklets. We are also responsible for the management of many countryside sites such as Fort Victoria and the Island’s Local Nature Reserves.

The little huts on the beach are rented or sold to people, coastin as much as £20000 per year to be on the beach, no tks not today. Those breakers are close to shore about 4ft high, can you imagine about half way across the channel!!!!!!!!!!!!!
